MASTER melodeon player, guitarist, pianist and singer/songwriter Luke Daniels revisits Prema with the promise of a wholly unusual musical experience.
This BBC award-winning musician, Riverdance Band member and soloist on Lord of the Rings and Hobbit soundtracks returns for an all new ‘coin operated’ show combining his outstanding talents as a songwriter, guitarist, pianist and melodeon virtuoso with that of a restored Polyphon machine (c.1880).
With an award from the PRS for Music Foundation, Daniels developed a computer programme to help him create new music for this 19th century mechanical music device via its nineteen inch steel discs.
As visually awe-inspiring as it is sonically entertaining, tonight’s repertoire explores British folk music as the result of circular patterns that have enabled us to move us forward whilst returning to a regular source point.
A fantastic evening for those with a passion for the more uncommon instruments as well as those with a thirst for how fine music can be made.
Join Luke on Saturday, November 14 at 8pm. Visit prema.org.uk for more details.
