DEBBIE Arthurs has a remarkable talent for both jazz singing and drumming. Standing at the Grand Jazz Percussion Kit she infuses her band with a dynamic swing which is colourful, charming and foot-tappingly rhythmic. Her voice is both focused and relaxed: her tone and phrasing strongly derived from the recording divas of the Jazz Age.

Roger Heeley (Piano) whose wonderful playing is inspired by Ellington. Roger has appeared at many jazz festivals, especially Bude, Keswick and Birmingham, backing mainstream stars such as John Hallam. Alan Barnes, Roy Williams and the late Bruce Turner. Gary Wood (Trumpet and Vocals) started playing the cornet at the age of 8 with his local brass band and quickly developed a taste for jazz and swing music, joining his first band in 1986. He has played with many top musicians such as Alan Barnes, John Dankworth and Roy Williams. Neil Ions (Singer and Percussionist) is a lover of many kinds of music including classical, jazz, rock, pop and latin. In 1987 Neil, alongside Debbie Arthurs, became a founder member of the Charleston Chasers and performed around the country for eight years. James Agg (Bass) originally trained as a classical musician. At sixteen he discovered jazz through playing double bass with the Cheltenham based John Stillman Trio. He has played on a number of occasions at prestigious venues such as the well renowned Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London.
