JOHNNY Coppin's much-loved ‘All on a Winter's Night’ concert is returning to Stroud's Subscription Rooms this Saturday, December 19, as part of a 6-date UK tour.

Johnny is the Gloucestershire - based singer/songwriter with Decameron, the legendary folk-rock band. His albums include `Edge of Day` with writer and poet Laurie Lee, `Force of the River`, ‘The Winding Stair’, and ‘Breaking the Silence’ together with singer/songwriter Mike Silver. He is also the presenter of an Acoustic Music show on BBC Radio Gloucestershire every Saturday at 5.30pm - www.bbc.co.uk/gloucestershire.

One of England’s finest singer/songwriters, Johnny presents a rich mix of traditional carols and new songs, together with stories and superstitions. There'll be new songs, material from his three Christmas albums, and songs from his latest album Borderland.

“Joining me on stage will be Paul Burgess, the multi-talented and Cheltenham born musician

on fiddle, recorders, and readings ; Dik Cadbury on guitars and vocals – he’s worked with me in Decameron, as well as with Steve Hackett, and Mike D’Abo “ - says Johnny.

“ It’s also really wonderful to have as our special guest Karen Tweed – the internationally acclaimed accordion player - as well as Geoff March (ex Decameron) on cello and vocals.”

With beautiful and evocative winter images of Gloucestershire and beyond by award-winning photographer Martin Fry from Churchdown, Johnny’s All On A Winter’s Night show is a firm favourite on the calendar.

“For as long as I can remember, I’ve loved singing Christmas carols and songs “ Johnny said.

This concert will feature new songs as well as original and traditional songs/tunes from Britain, Ireland, France and beyond - including a song from the “War Horse” stage show as well as Johnny’s powerful “Innocents’ Song” - as covered by Show of Hands- one of UK’s most popular duos- and winners of many BBC Folk Awards.
