A LITTLE bit of sunshine comes to the Oldridge Bar, Kingshill House, Dursley, on Friday, January 22 with talented local duo, Minor Swing, opening the 2016 season of live gigs.

Minor Swing will take you on a musical journey through jazz. Whether playing hot club swing, bebop or the mellow tones of blues and bossa, they bring with them a wonderfully welcoming, chic and nostalgic sound that will captivate any listener.

Phil Harris studied guitar at the Spanish Guitar Centre at an early age. His musical influences included people as diverse as Django Reinhart and Jimi Hendrix. He is joined by his ex pupil Matt Hopkins, whose taste turned ultimately towards jazz. Phil and Matt are delighted to have teamed up in this latest musical adventure, combining the broader influences of Matt’s straight ahead jazz with the fusion of influences that have been part of Phil’s life.

For those who would like a bite to eat, food is served in the Bar from 7pm. Entertainment begins at 8pm. There is no entry charge but the hat is passed around.
