ONE of the UK’s leading female choruses will be joined by the Mendip Male Voice Choir for what is set to be a memorable performance in Thornbury

Fascinating Rhythm, based in Winterbourne, came fifth in last year’s Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS) Convention. The annual competition attracts A Cappella groups from across the country, with the 2015 event in Bournemouth boasting a 31-strong entry.

Established in 1919, Mendip Male Voice Choir will join the ladies for two 50-minute sets at Castle School on Park Road. Fascinating Rhythm are set to perform show-stopping numbers such as Mr Blue Sky, We Go Together and Feeling Good.

“We’re really excited to be joining the Mendip men for this show,” said Jo Dean, Fascinating Rhythm’s musical director. “Our set will also include Manhattan and Sway, which we sang at last year’s LABBS convention. The ladies can’t wait to perform those again, and it should be an unforgettable night.”

The concert starts at 7.30pm in the Castle School, Thornbury, on Saturday 5 March and is being held in aid of the Gloucestershire West group of the Riding for Disabled Association. Tickets cost £10 (adult), £8 (senior) or £6 (under-16s) and can be purchased from www.fascinating-rhythm.com
