THE Unravelling Wilburys head to Stroud’s Lansdown Hall on Friday, March 10.
Be prepared for a tour of the best of The Travelling Wilburys, as the band replicate the sounds and songs of this particular ‘supergroup’ from the late 80’s.
Adorned with five of the most famous names in rock history, George Harrison, Roy Orbison, Bob Dylan, Jeff Lynne and Tom Petty, the Wilburys filled the airwaves with timeless songs such as Handle with Care, End of the Line, The Devil’s Been Busy, Not Alone Anymore, Tweeter and The Monkey Man and Heading for the Light.
These form the basis of the set, around which the band weave some of the solo work of Orbison (Pretty Woman, You Got It), Lynne’s ELO (Mr Blue Sky, When I Was A Boy), Petty (The Waiting, I Won’t Back Down), Harrison (Got My Mind Set On You, All Those Years Ago) and Dylan (Hey Mr Tambourine Man, Make You Feel My Love) to name but a few.
- Tickets are available at ticketsource.co.uk/wilburys and from Tourist Information Centre Stroud (01453 760900 on online).
- Prices £10 in advance, £12 on the door. Fees for bookings made online. Got to unravellingwilburys.co.uk for more.
