MJ-UK Music and Arts present A Touch of Spring Magic, their annual concert for the Chris Treglowne award, on Saturday, May 13 at 7.30 pm, at the Holy Trinity Church, Watermoor.

Chris, one of MJ/UK’s most talented singers, died in a road accident on his way back to his home in Cornwall five years ago after spending time in Cirencester rehearsing for a forthcoming musical and having singing lessons from Maria Jagusz.

To commemorate his life, Maria and his parents established a foundation in his name with two cash awards of £1,000 each presented to the two most accomplished performers each year, one from the Cotswolds and one from Cornwall, to help them with their studies.

The concert in the Holy Trinity Church will feature popular music from the world of musicals and opera as some of MJ-UK’s most prestigious singers compete for this year’s Cotswold award.

Tickets are available for £8 (children under 12 free) from Cirencester Information Centre, 01285 654180: from Roger Hester (RjhesterH5677@aol.com): and on the door.

There will be a retiring collection for the Holy Trinity Church Fund.

The Foundation, the awards and the concerts are a wonderful way to keep Chris’s memory alive and to pay tribute to an exceptional young man.
