WELL known in and around Stroud, The Black Feathers, made up of Sian Chandler and Ray Hughes, will be appearing at Bisley Village Hall on Saturday, May 6, to help raise funds towards the ongoing development of the Hall.

They write songs that seem to weave together both modern and ancient influences into a magical whole. Americana, Folk and Acoustic Indie Rock all co-exist comfortably, with Hughes guitar work framing wonderful harmonies that give you goosebumps.

2016 was an incredible year for them, with their debut album receiving critical acclaim and breaking into the top 10 of iTunes Country chart, and seeing the release of a live recording, performed at The Convent in Woodchester.

The year also saw tours in the UK and the USA, in addition to an Irish Tour, supporting Eddi Reader.

This year, they have been in the studio creating more music, to be released later in the year.

Roger Smith, one of the Bisley WI Village Hall trustees, said: “We are delighted to get Ray and Sian to perform for us here in Bisley and we are sure it will be a really special evening.

"Lots of folks in the know are talking about them and people should come along and see what all the chatter is about. Once seen, never forgotten”.

  •  Tickets are £10 each, available from George Stores, Bisley (01452 771203) or via the wegottickets website, event number 390618. Doors and Bar will open at 7 pm and the music will start at 8 pm.
