STRATFORD-Upon-Avon’s outstanding chamber orchestra Orchestra of the Swan will be playing at the Subscription Rooms in Stroud on June 4 at 3pm for a relaxing afternoon of music featuring David Le Page, one of the country’s top violinists.

The performance, conducted by David Curtis, will feature beautiful music from Holst, Walton, Elgar and Vaugh Williams (including The Lark Ascending, voted the top of Classic FM’s Hall of Fame chart for eight years) and will include a pre-show talk at 2pm to introduce the programme of music.

The group are celebrating their 21st anniversary this year and give over 40 concerts annually and are ever increasing their overseas touring.

Orchestra of the Swan has also toured the UK with groups such as Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel and James, with sell-out performances at London’s Albert Hall.

David Le Page is a leading UK violinist and acts as artistic director of the successful Harborough Concerts series, based in Market Harborough, which presents around 20 groundbreaking performances a year. He is also currently President of the European String Teachers Association.

Orchestra of the Swan has delighted audiences across the country since it formed in 1995 and continues to produce outstanding performances with innovative programming and world class soloists.
