ONE of the premier male voice choirs in the UK, Dursley Male Voice Choir, is headlining the festivities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Crudwell Strawberry Fayre in July.

The choir, which has frequently featured in the top three of national and international competitions, performs at All Saints Church in Crudwell, near Malmesbury, on Friday, July 7 and tickets are now on sale.

The Saxon church in Crudwell is an unusual venue for the choir which has performed to sell-out audiences at the Royal Albert Hall, The Colston Hall in Bristol and in concert halls and cathedrals all over the world.

Featuring works ranging from Mozart and Wagner to Elvis Presley and Lloyd Webber, the choir’s repertoire is extensive and its performances eagerly anticipated.

Tickets, £8, can be booked from sales@crudwellstrawberryfayre.co.uk Other musical events at the 30th anniversary Strawberry Fayre include performances by piano accordionist Andrew Jupp, fiddle and mandolin player Mal Rogers and the Fourtunes saxophone quartet.

On Saturday evening, July 8, an evening of Sizzle and Swing to the big band sound of the JJ Swing Band, includes a licensed bar and hotdogs.

There will also be singing workshops and African drumming workshops on Saturday, July 8 and harp workshops on Sunday July 9.

Proceeds from the events, including the sales of strawberries and cream throughout the Saturday and Sunday, are in support of Crudwell Church.
