COALEYFEST music festival is returning for the fifth year at Coaley school field bigger and better than before.

Saturday, June 17 sees the long awaited return of the music festival hosted by Friends of Coaley School.

The event raises funds for the students at Coaley Church of England Primary School and has fast become the highlight of the village, bringing the village together and providing a platform for local artists to showoff their talents.

This year the acts are bigger and the beer is provided by Uley Brewery.

This is fast becoming a village tradition that people attend from far and wide.

Organisers have handpicked an array of artists and bands whose range of music is sure to cater for everyone’s tastes and this year will kick off with the return of students from Coaley Church of England Primary School performing a surprise medley followed on by more students, this time from Rednock, Naomi Maiden and Emi Gradwell.

Other acts include Dance in Misery, a four piece rock band who cover a mixture of music from the last three decades, The Foremen playing blues and Mekon Man & the Cry Babies who are returning for a second year due to their popularity and ability to get a crowd on their feet.

Headlining this year is Mr Tea and the Minions.

According to their blurb they are “on a mission to ignite crazy dancing by audiences everywhere”.

These guys are no strangers to gigging having played a huge amount of festivals including Glastonbury.

They have their own original compositions whose sound is influenced by Gypsy flavoured Ska, Dub and Swing.

Aside from the music there will be a range of stalls including a BBQ with meat supplied by Cam Family Butchers, coffee provided by Cafe2U, Beer tent and children’s essential inflatable festival accessories.
