WOMAD 2017 is set to get the tastebuds tingling with an array of culinary delights.

Alongside the cool and colourful line-up including names such as Oumou Sangaré, Benjamin Zephaniah and the Revolutionary Minds, Nick Mulvey and La Dame Blanche, the world’s festival also celebrates food from across the globe.

The Yalumba Taste the World stage boasts an array of artists cooking up a storm, there is a partnership with award-winning Australian wine brand Yalumba, cookery lessons for kids, and a smorgasbord of other culinary treats for festival-goers to try.

Food and music is at the heart of WOMAD and the Yalumba Taste The World stage is the perfect fusion of the two, inviting artists performing at the festival to cook up recipes from their own countries whilst regaling the crowd with personal anecdotes and off the cuff performances.

A selection of the artists cooking up a storm this year are Meta Meta, who bring a taste of Brazil to the stage, Viguela with traditional Spanish fare, Savina Yannatou ‘s Greek delights and Alsarah and the Nubatones cooking Mula Waika, a traditional Sudenese dish.

Festival-goers will also be able to sample the delights of Ethiopia with Selamnesh Zemen and the Nile Project offering up ‘Doro Wat’. Surprises too come in the shape of the wonderful Speech Debelle (one time semi-finalist on Masterchef) dipping into her cookbook and vocal repertoire.

After a fantastically successful debut partnership last year, Australia’s oldest family-owned winery Yalumba is back for WOMAD 2017, bringing with them over 168 years of winemaking history and expertise.

Bigger and better than ever, the Yalumba wine bar is also back for 2017, offering a wide range of wines for festival-goers.

The fields of Wiltshire transform into food heaven for one weekend only, offering up a veritable feast from every corner of the globe.

Whether it is Goan curries made with fresh Cornish fish, Damascene falafel with Marrakechi fries, authentic East End pie and mash, gaucho style rib-eye steak, Filipino noodles or Spanish paella and churros, there is something for everyone’s palate.

Young festival-goers will be donning their chef’s hats and aprons as the kid’s cookery workshops are back by popular demand.
