FORGET Ronnie Scott's, the Cotswold Edge Jazz Cafe at the Town Hall in Wotton-Under-Edge is the place to be on Saturday, July 8 to hear top jaz solists.

The first Cotswold Edge Brass Festival will be opened by the brass group Mex Kex with classic jazz tunes from Herb Alpert to Frank Zappa.

Mex Kex are formed of musicians from the two professional orchestras based in Wales, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera.

Following Mex Kex are trumpeter Danny Marsden and vocalist Louise Clare Marshall.

Danny has performed with the Glen Miller Orchestra, the BBC Concert Orchestra and is the trumpet player from the Strictly Come Dancing band.

Loiuse is a vocalist who can be heard with Jools Holland, David Gilmore and also featured on BBC Radio 2 Friday Night Is Music Night's tribute to Ella in May.

They will be joined by friends to perform jazz classics.
