Colin Firth says he'd love to head back to the small screen - if he was offered a meaty enough role.

The Hollywood heartthrob, 53, made his name in TV almost 20 years ago, as Mr Darcy in period drama Pride And Prejudice, and has since been enjoying success on the big screen.

On Tuesday night, The King's Speech actor was lauded with a GQ Men Of The Year gong for Leading Man, to add to his already bulging trophy cabinet.

Speaking at a party in the Royal Opera House, where he mingled with fellow thespians such as Benedict Cumberbatch and Peter Capaldi, Colin said that he was tempted to make the move back to TV.

"I would definitely do TV, at the drop of a hat, if I was offered a good role," he said.

A string of Hollywood stars have been working on TV recently, which is said to be enjoying a golden age.

But Colin said: "I haven't really been offered anything."

He added: "I watch a great deal of TV, especially the US stuff!"
