Paris Hilton has revealed she hasn’t stopped crying since the death of her beloved chihuahua Tinkerbell earlier this week.

The tiny dog was a loyal companion to the socialite for 14 years, appearing with her in her reality shows including The Simple Life and in advertising campaigns for Guess.

Speaking on the red carpet at the Race To Erase MS gala in Los Angeles, the 34-year-old said she was beside herself with grief.

“I’m so depressed, it’s been so hard, I haven’t stopped crying, she has been my best friend half my life and I miss her.”

The dog was frequently dressed in designer outfits and travelled the world in style, prompting Paris to admit: “She had a better life than most people.”

The DJ cuddled up to a tiny white puppy on the red carpet at the charity gala but said she wouldn’t be taking her home, even though the dog was being auctioned off for the charity.

Paris also posed for pictures with her parents Richard and Kathy, and explained that the cause is particularly important to her family.

She said: “I lost my grandmother to MS, this is a charity that is very close to my heart so I want to help and find a cure for it.

“There are so many rumours about it but it is great they are finding medicines for it that are really helping out and people are able to walk still.”
