Singer Tallia Storm is following in the footsteps of the Spice Girls after landing a major deal.

Tallia, now 16, was first discovered by Sir Elton John and has just been signed up as the face of Chupa Chups Airheads.

It’s the first time the brand has aligned themselves with a pop star since the Spice Girls.

She described the experience as “amazing”, saying: “My mum was raving about the lollies as clearly I was a baby when the Spice Girls were at the height of their fame.

“The Chupa Chups lollies are iconic and to be part of that family now is mega. Plus it’s my one vice, OK maybe second vice – chocolate and sweeties.”

Talking about taking over from the Spice Girls she said: “I don’t think anyone can be compared to the Spice Girls – a phenomenon, which I doubt, will be repeated.

“But hey, it would be nice to be even a wee bit as successful as those girlies, they really did nail it! Lets hope this brings me as much luck as it did them.”

She also counts Spice Girl Victoria Beckham’s son, Brooklyn, among her acquaintances and joked about him “being a good kisser”.

She said: “He’s a great kisser… just kidding. I don’t know him that well, people assumed that because we hung out a few times we were an item, which just wasn’t true.

“My big sister Tessie, his cousin and I hang out when we are in London and we all just have a laugh together, that’s it… I don’t do boyfriends, I’ve got way too much to concentrate on.

“But I will say this, he’s very grounded, really funny and very charming. I’ve met his parents and they were so down to earth and very cool. They seem to be a very close family, very like my family in that ‘families come first’, which is really what life is all about.”

After opening for Sir Elton John at the tender age of 13, Tallia’s star has definitely been on the rise.

Talking about Sir Elton she said: “One of the most important things he said was to be true to my music and my style and not to be influenced to become something I’m not.

“He loved the fact that I write with my dad and the fact that we have crafted ‘our sound’, jamming together for all these years. In fact he called us ‘the blooming Waltons of the music business’, simply because he couldn’t believe we had written these songs together.”

“He was incredible when we first met when I opened his concert for him. What you have to remember is that with that one single act, that insane gesture, he has literally changed my life.

“He gave me the most incredible opportunity to show the world what I can do and I will be forever indebted to him for that.

“In some ways, I always keep at the back of my mind that I don’t want to let him down, you know for taking that chance on me. So when I feel like that I just work harder.

Plus the man is a serial workhorse, he’s always touring and always giving back to the world with his charitable endeavours so I think every aspiring artist should learn from Sir Elton by simply following his career.”
