Rose McGowan has revealed that she has been fired by her acting agent for speaking out against a sexist casting call for an Adam Sandler film.

The Grindhouse actress was outraged when she was sent a casting call note for the movie which told auditionees to show off their cleavage and posted the note on Twitter earlier this month.

Later, Rose also added that she didn’t like being told to read the script, either.

But now, Rose seems to have been punished for calling out the casting director on the instructions that came with the audition notes, as she says her agent has dropped her.

However, she cleared up any confusion about parting ways with her female agent, Sheila Wenzel, who she said had left the management company before it happened.

A source close to Adam Sandler’s production company Happy Madison told the Daily Mirror: “They [Sandler and his team] were not aware the casting director sent this note out. They felt it was completely inappropriate and have made sure that it has not been sent out again.”

Rose has gathered some support in Hollywood for her actions – gender equality in Hollywood advocate Melissa Silverstein tweeted her appreciation and Jessica Chastain agreed with her.
