Tara Reid has revealed she would love to make another Sharknado movie – set in the UK.

The 39-year-old American Pie star returns as April Shepard in the third instalment of the spoof disaster franchise, Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!, which premieres on Syfy on July 23. Tara admitted she had no idea the movie would become such a success it would spawn two sequels, but she hopes to make more.

She said: “With the first one we had no clue. The chances that this movie would become this cultural phenomenon, it’s crazy. It’s like ‘What?! how did this happen?!’

“I think if it goes anywhere we’ve definitely got to go overseas. ‘Cause we’ve already taken over America. So you never know we could end up in China, or in the UK, or Australia, at this point anything’s possible. The UK would be amazing, I would love that.”

The latest movie is set on the East Coast, with April in Florida awaiting the birth of her first child, while husband Fin (Ian Ziering) is in Washington DC to receive an award from the President for his efforts battling the Sharknados in LA and New York in the first two movies.

Tara revealed: “Anything can happen in Sharknado, it just gets crazier and crazier. You just think, this can’t happen. Somehow Thunder Levin who wrote it comes up with these things where you just go: ‘How does he even think of things like this?’

“I am all baby-bumped up. April is kicking shark butt, but she’s still protective of her child, she’s not letting anything happen. That motherly instinct kicks in for her.”

David Hasselhoff plays Fin’s father, while Bo Derek has been cast as April’s mother.

Tara said: “When I found out Bo Derek was playing my mother, the casting is just amazing. The most beautiful woman in the world gets to play my mother, I’m like, ‘Not bad! Good genes!’ She’s just a legend, she’s not just beautiful on the outside, she is on the inside too, she’s just a great person.”

And among the string of cameos in the movie, which include Jerry Springer and Ne-Yo, Tara got her pals Jedward a part, who she met when they were all contestants on Celebrity Big Brother UK in 2011.

She revealed: “I got them a cameo in the film, they were actually visiting me at the time, so I asked the producer to put them in the movie and they had no problem with it. So I got them a little cameo and then I also got Jedward to do a song for the movie on the soundtrack.”

And as for their acting, she said: “You know what, Jedward always surprise you, you never know what they’re up to. They do a little bit of everything.”

Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! premieres on Thursday July 23 at 10pm on Syfy.
