EastEnders resident Ben Mitchell reaches breaking point as he crumbles under the pressure of the Lucy Beale murder mystery.

Ben, played by Harry Reid, struggles to cope as DCI Jill Marsden (Sophie Stanton) puts further pressure on him, still convinced that he is the culprit behind Lucy’s death.

Ben’s questioning continues, despite Max Branning being arrested for Lucy’s death on the BBC soap on July 24.

Cops believe that Max, played by Jake Wood, had some involvement with her murder, after his daughter Abi (Lorna Fitzgerald) gave a statement, putting her father in the frame for prime suspect.

But who will go down and be formally charged with Lucy’s murder?

Despite Max having an affair with Lucy, soap fans know he was not responsible for her death, with 13 million viewers watching 11-year-old Bobby Beale exposed as his sister’s killer in February.

With Jake leaving the show after nine years, speculation is rife that Max’s days could be numbered.

EastEnders continues on BBC One tonight (July 27).
