Victoria Beckham has attempted to silence rumours about her marriage, saying she and husband David have “nothing to prove”.

The former Spice Girl responded to recent reports in several newspapers about the balance between her relationship with the ex-England footballer and the couple’s separate business commitments.

The fashion designer admitted it was “hard” to juggle family life with her career and charity work but said she was “like any working mum”.

In an interview with Grazia magazine, the 41 year old said: “I have never listened to, or commented on, the rumours about any aspect of my life.

“I am blessed to have a wonderful husband and beautiful, healthy, happy children. Yes, we travel a lot with our respective businesses and charitable commitments, but we always make time for each other as a couple and as a family.

“David and I have nothing to prove. We love each other, look out for each other and are strong as both partners and parents.”

Her comments come after David defended his four-year-old daughter Harper’s use of a dummy following criticism in a newspaper. In an Instagram post to his 10.1 million followers in August he said: “Why do people feel they have the right to criticise a parent about their own children without having any facts??”

The pair, who have been married for 16 years, also have three sons – Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
