Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2015: The heavenly runway models and the performers

The two newcomers, both 20, stretched their wings as they made their debut with fellow newbies such as Martha Hunt and Elsa Hosk to walk the runway at the US brand’s glitzy show at the Lexington Armory in New York.

Kendall rocked a number of outfits including a mint green bejewelled lingerie set and a colourful corset with a flamenco-style skirt, while Gigi wowed in a green butterfly-inspired number with giant wings as well as a sporty crop top and boy short from the label’s Pink range.

Gigi said: “I’ve watched the show my entire life and this has been such a dream. I was really nervous in rehearsal.”

She prepared for her debut with the help of boxing and ballet.

“A lot of sweating and then just focusing on smaller parts because when everything’s in high-def you have to not forget about the little things,” she added.

Caitlyn and Kris Jenner were all smiles as they arrived to support their daughter Kendall.

Singer Selena Gomez wore a custom-made black studded Louis Vuitton dress by Nicholas Ghesquiere, before showing off her stunning figure in a low-cut plunging and high-cut silky dress on stage as she performed alongside models Taylor Hill and Megan Puleri.

“I don’t know if I could be an Angel, I’m not gonna lie,” Selena joked.

“I look at how hard they work. I like fried food too much. I don’t know if I could give that up.”

Ellie Goulding and The Weeknd also performed on the night, after Rihanna abruptly cancelled her appearance.

At one point, Canadian star The Weeknd appeared to serenade Alessandra Ambrosio, while during another song, he sang as models Lily Aldridge, Cindy Bruna and Adriana Lima walked beside him.

Brazilian beauty Adriana, marking her 16th year as an Angel, said her nerves leading up to each show never really go away.

“It’s a little bit tough after so many years because the girls are so beautiful and I have to keep up with them,” said the 34-year-old mother of two.

“I work out as much as I can, and you know, I feel great… I feel wonderful in my skin.”

Seventy-five looks were shown by the 47 models, including South African star Candice Swanepoel, Behati Prinsloo and British models Stella Maxwell and Leomie Anderson, during the hotly-anticipated show, which featured sections of Sixties boho angels flashing peace signs in skimpy bras and knickers, swinging fringe and showing off wings made of sculptured paper, leather and feathers.

Seasoned Victoria’s Secret model Lily was chosen to wear this year’s gem-laden Fantasy Bra.

The demi-bra and matching belt, worth two million dollars, is fashioned in bursts of fireworks and encrusted with 6,500 diamonds, blue topaz, yellow sapphires and other precious stones and set in 18-karat gold.

Martha closed the show with another centrepiece, a corset sparkling with 90,000 gold, red, green and blue crystals, courtesy of Swarovski. The accompanying light-up wings included 20,000 crystals and 1,200 battery-powered LED lights, with a battery pack weighing at 19 pounds.

“I did practise… with a trainer. I wore a weighted vest and walked back and forth in high heels,” she said.

The 2015 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show will air on US screens on December 8, before being shown around the world.
