Cara Delevingne has given a candid insight into her romantic nature, calling herself a “‘ride or die’ kind of gal” and saying she would lay down her life for someone she loved.
Cara, 23, who has been dating singer St Vincent – real name Annie Clark – for nearly a year, also revealed that she has been known to pen love letters and travel thousands of miles to see partners.
Speaking to Loaded magazine, Cara revealed: “Loyalty is one of the most important things to me in the world. Once I care about someone, I’ll jump in front of a car for them. I’m a real ‘ride or die’ kind of gal. It’s all about trust and loyalty.
“I can’t date someone who’s like me because we’d probably end up killing each other. I need someone who can plan things.”
While fans are normally left drawing conclusions about the model-turned-actress’s love life from paparazzi shots, she was uncharacteristically open about how well she treats her lovers.
“I’ve serenaded a couple of people before, which is really embarrassing. I used to write love letters a lot, and I have travelled very far for a day to see someone,” she said.
Cara has been linked to plenty of high-profile names in the past, including Michelle Rodriguez and Harry Styles.
But she spoke out last year about how she’s only come to accept herself more during her current relationship.
She told Vogue: “I think that being in love with my girlfriend is a big part of why I’m feeling so happy with who I am these days.
“And for those words to come out of my mouth is actually a miracle… It took me a long time to accept the idea, until I first fell in love with a girl at 20 and recognised that I had to accept it.”
