Last year’s X Factor winner Louisa Johnson has dropped a bit of bombshell: She didn’t really like her own debut single.

Every year, after the ITV programme’s winner is announced, they immediately release a pre-recorded single, a cover version of a well-known song.

Louisa’s track was a cover of Bob Dylan’s Forever Young and it was the first of all the X Factor champions’ singles to not hit the top spot in the charts – instead, it peaked at number nine.

On the cusp of releasing her fresh, new music, including new single So Good, Louisa admitted her feelings over her debut.

She told The Sun: “I didn’t really gel with it that much – everyone knows it wasn’t the best song.

“I didn’t really like it, but it was just one of those things.”

The star added, with surprise: “It got to a higher spot than I thought it was going to get.”

However, following that, her contribution to Clean Bandit’s track Tears fared better as it reached the fifth spot on the UK Singles Chart.

Louisa has said that her new musical effort has a “raunchier” vibe to it and that “none of it’s fake, it’s all very much real”.
