Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway joked about her “trauma” after she suffered a wardrobe malfunction live on air.

The co-host, 49, was talking about the Queen’s 91st birthday when she lost a button on the back of her mustard dress.

“Has the Queen ever lost the button off the back of her dress during an important moment like I did just there?” she asked royal photographer Arthur Edwards, her guest on the show.

After fiddling with the back of the dress to ensure nothing was on show that shouldn’t be, she said: “I must apologise for hoicking my dress up, but it’s burst. It has burst, I’m afraid.”

And she added of the episode: “You’d never get that with the Queen.”

Co-host Ben Shephard told Kate: “That’s the problem if you wear a mustard doily,” to which the presenter joked: “You’re just laughing about my trauma.”

Meanwhile, Kate defended an interview with Nigel Farage.

She told the politician: “This is all about you. We love you and we love hearing about your extraordinary success but we’re talking about the party.”

Kate tweeted afterwards:

Bet she’s looking forward to the weekend.
