Julianne Hough has revealed the new Rock Of Ages movie took everyone out of their comfort zones.
The singer and actress stars alongside Tom Cruise, Russell Brand, Mary J Blige and Catherine Zeta-Jones in the film adaptation of the rock musical and found it scary but fun.
Julianne said: "It was unbelievable, what an incredible film to be a part of. The cast was outstanding, and everybody that was a part of it did such an amazing job, stepped out of their comfort zones and tried something different and scary - and it was fun."
The 23-year-old Footloose star admitted working with the all-star cast had been daunting, but everyone else had been pushed to do new things too.
She said: "I hate to say this as it's such a cliche, but it's such a surreal moment when you're going through the script together, and to my right is Tom Cruise, Mary J Blige and Malin Akerman and to my left is Alec Baldwin, Paul Giamatti and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
"It's like: 'What is going on? Who am I? Why am I here? Oh my gosh, this is crazy! But the cool thing is everyone is jumping in there, doing something that they're not completely used to or known for, so we all had each other's back and everybody was rooting for everybody."
:: Footloose, starring Julianne Hough, is available now on Blu-ray and DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment.
