AFTER a critically acclaimed run at the London Coliseum in July this year, English National Ballet brings is bringing its production of Coppélia to Bristol as part of its UK tour this week.
Coppélia is the comic tale of an eccentric toymaker and his mechanical doll. Dr Coppélius, the toymaker, creates a lifelike Coppélia doll and wishes to bring her to life. English National Ballet's production is choreographed by Ronald Hynd. Léo Delibes' score is played by English National Ballet's full orchestra.
Following their debut performance in the lead roles of Franz and Swanilda, Yonah Acosta, who was recently promoted to Principal, performs alongside Shiori Kase, who was recently promoted to First Soloist, on tour. Other lead roles in Coppélia include Junor Souza, who was recently promoted to First Soloist and Lauretta Summerscales; Tamara Rojo and Alejandro Virelles; Erina Takahashi and Fernando Bufalá; and Fernanda Oliveira and Zdenek Konvalina.

Coppelia is on at the Bristol Hippodrome until Saturday, November 8, 2014
