PICTURE yourself as a bartender, sipping top-shelf whiskey and watching your customers descend into nightly oblivion. Your heart is broken by the world around you and, leaving the whiskey aside, you hatch a devious, unthinkable plan of escape…

Following its sell-out run at Edinburgh Festival 2014, award-winning FellSwoop Theatre present Ablutions - a dark, modern drama, adapted from the novel by Man Booker shortlisted author, Patrick deWitt (who described FellSwoop Theatre as "an imaginative and thoughtful group of artists who have worked wonders on this adaptation").

A grimly funny tale from the sodden depths of the Los Angeles underworld, Ablutions blends a live soundtrack with detailed mime and deWitt’s heart wrenching humour.

Starting life as a work in progress performance during Ferment Fortnight in July 2012, Ablutions returns to Bristol Old Vic following a successful nationwide tour, and stint at Edinburgh Fringe Festival - during which time it was named the Pick of the Fringe.

Emma Bettridge, Ferment Producer said: "We are very proud of FellSwoop Theatre and their work with Ablutions. Their journey with this piece reflects the Ferment process perfectly - we have watched this show grow from a spark of a thought, to this fantastic explosion of a production. They are stars in the making, catch them while you can."

Ablutions is on at Bristol Old Vic Studio, March 18-20, 8pm and 3pm (Sat mat). To book, call 0117 987 7877 or visit bristololdvic.org.uk/ablutions15
