PREPARATIONS are well under way for Stinchcombe Village Players' tenth production, which next year will be The Snow Queen.

The Players are happy to welcome new members, adults and children (school year 5 and up), both on and off the stage and this year the regular Dame has hung up his wig and falsies for the last time, so we they are in particular need of a new Dame for this production. Surely there must be other men out there who like dressing up in women's clothes? We would also really welcome more help backstage and particularly with operating the sound and lighting systems.

A read-through and auditions will be taking place at 3pm on October 25 and November 1, with Sunday afternoon rehearsals beginning on November 8, in Stinchcombe Village Hall. Rehearsals are always good fun but we realise that some people have been put off taking part in the past by the heavy commitment of Sunday afternoons so we are reducing their number this year but also holding some (not too many!) mid-week rehearsals for principals. We also hope to organise the rehearsal schedule so that no-one is expected to attend every one and hope that this may enable more people to take part, with performances on March 4 and 5 next year.
