THERE are some very happy people in Thornbury at the moment, as the Students of the Northavon School of Drama, who perform as the Northavon Youth Theatre Company, are enjoying a double celebration. Not only have they just won a trophy in the Rose Bowl Awards for Drama & Music, for Best Youth Production, with 'Sunshine on Leith', featuring the music of The Proclaimers, beating hundreds of other groups in the South West, but also next Easter they will mark 40 years of staging high quality youth theatre productions with a glittering 40th Anniversary production of Thoroughly Modern Millie.

NYTC is very proud of the fact that it is not only one of the longest running groups of its kind, but also that it was one of the very first to be established in the whole of the United Kingdom - a proud boast for Thornbury!

The youngsters meet on Saturday mornings in the Chantry, Castle Street, Thornbury, so if you’d like to get involved with the next production, meet plenty of new friends and have fun, please email nytc@blueyonder.co.uk for more details or visit www.nytc.org.uk.
