ROUGE 28 theatre comes to Prema, Uley this month with 'Kwaidan', a cinematic and atmospheric piece inspired by Japanese ghost stories and horror movies. It combines life-sized puppets, ‘humanettes’ and video projections.

Kwaidan tells the story of Haru - a young woman who comes back to her abandoned family home after many years of absence. Strange events take place as the house seems to be inhabited by spirits and ghosts from the past. As the action unfolds, the memory of a terrible event resurfaces.

Rouge28 Theatre is a company of international theatre artists based in London. It combines puppetry with a variety of performance genres to produce original and intriguing visual theatre and tonight we have a very welcome return for the company who brought us the mesmerising Urashima Taro just a few years ago.

Kwaidan’s ghostly tale promises a hauntingly memorable theatre experience and is suitable for brave, robust young people over the age of ten who have an active imagination and a penchant for things from the dark side.

Kwaidan takes place at Prema on Friday, November 13 (8 pm start). Visit www.prema.org.uk for more details and tickets.
