ROBERT POWELL stars in the title role as Mike Bartlett’s multi award-winning King Charles III visits Bath on its first UK tour.

The Queen is dead and, after a lifetime of waiting, Prince Charles’s long-awaited accession to the throne is far from straightforward. Things start to unravel as William and Kate mount a Palace coup against him, Harry falls for a left-wing art student and the popular Labour Prime Minister determines the curb of freedom of the press. When riots break out and civil war looms, The Firm closes ranks.

King Charles III received its premiere at the Almeida Theatre in 2014 before transferring to the Wyndham’s Theatre in the West End this September, winning the Olivier Award and South Bank Sky Arts Award for Best New Play 2015, and the 2014 Critics Circle Award.

Directed by the Almeida Theatre’s artistic director Rupert Goold with Whitney Mosery, King Charles III explores the people underneath the crowns, the unwritten rules of our democracy, and the conscience of Britain's most famous family.

King Charles III tours to the Theatre Royal Bath from Monday 23, November 23 to Saturday, November 28. Limited Availability. To book contact the Theatre Royal Bath Box Office on 01225 448844 or visit www.theatreroyal.org.uk
