THE INTERNATIONALLY acclaimed Stomp returns to Bath next week as one of only two UK dates for its 25th anniversary tour.

Fresher, faster and funnier than ever before, the show sees eight performers use boots, bins, brooms and everything, including the kitchen sink, to hammer out an explosively feel-good beat, as the Stompers return to the Theatre Royal Bath for the first time since 2012.

Die-hard fans, as well as those new to the show, can look forward to Stomp’s signature high-octane blend of slick choreography, industrial percussion, tight ensemble work, and a narrative of anarchic clowning, as the show builds towards its showstopper of a climax, a carnival of rhythmic noise.

This year’ tour introduces two new pieces to the show: “Frogs” and “Trolleys”, slotting in seamlessly to the show’s exploration of sound, movement and physical humour.

Created and co-directed by Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas in Brighton in 1991, Stomp was the result of a ten-year collaboration, with a string of sell-out world tours over 50 countries, for 15 million people and performances at the Academy Awards, the Emmys, and the Olympics closing ceremony.

Stomp returns to the Theatre Royal Bath from Tuesday, April 19 to Sunday, April 24. Tickets are on sale at the Theatre Royal Box Office on 01225 448844 and online at www.theatreroyal.org.uk
