AS A sequel to the Thornbury Musical Theatre Group’s previous concert ‘On Air’ performed 11 years ago, and which brought radio to the stage, ‘On Air Again!’ features the sights and sounds of the small screen.

So come along and be part of the studio audience at Thornbury’s ‘Television Centre’ at the Armstrong Hall to witness this sensational spectacle which will be a trip down memory lane, or an insight into yesteryear. From the beginnings of television with the 30 lines of John Logie Baird right through to the high definition of the modern era, the journey will include interesting dialogue throughout, some great popular songs spanning the decades from the 1920s to the present day, songs associated with the all-time great television performers, popular hits synonymous with programmes like Top of the Pops, sketches from popular TV programmes, and so much more.

Recently some group members were lucky enough to have the opportunity to visit the BBC West and BBC Radio Bristol Studios at Whiteladies Road to gain an awareness and understanding of the workings behind the cameras. As well as a tour, they took part in interactive activities including making their own radio drama and presenting their own versions of BBC Points West! From seeing programmes ON AIR, it is out turn to feature our own ‘ON AIR AGAIN!’

There will be three performances: Friday, June 3 at 7.30 pm and Saturday, June 4 at 2.30 pm and 7.30 pm.
