TONY award-winning director Ivo van Hove returns to National Theatre Live screens with a modern production of Henrik Ibsen’s masterpiece, Hedda Gabler, showing at the Bacon Theatre, Dean Close School in Cheltenham on Thursday, March 9 at 7pm.

Just married. Bored already. Hedda longs to be free... Hedda and Tesman have just returned from their honeymoon and the relationship is already in trouble.

Trapped but determined, Hedda tries to control those around her, only to see her own world unravel.

Ruth Wilson (Luther, The Affair, Jane Eyre) plays the title role in this new version of Ibsen’s play by Patrick Marber (Notes on a Scandal, Closer).

Speaking for the Bacon Theatre, Jess Waterman said: “The production shots for this cutting edge version of Hedda Gabler are amazing, promising a gripping rendition of the classic Ibsen text.”
