A SPECIAL charity event is on Saturday, April 1 at The Sub Rooms in Stroud to raise money for Save the Children Refugee fund.

Joining Together To Make A Difference brings together professional and amateur performers from across the county to raise money for the refugee crisis.

The first half will feature local dance school Ballyhoo, the Skylarks Community Choir from Berkeley and Just Us Productions who will preview songs from their forthcoming show Bare.

The second half features Focus Theatre from Cheltenham with a new musical Second Chance written by John Bassett (from Stroud theatre company Spaniel in the Works) and directed by Sheila Mander.

Second Chance is a lively funny musical which looks at six women who want to change their lives, rediscover lost dreams and find what is holding them back from being confident in the world.

John Bassett said: “This is a whole evening of excellent entertainment for a good cause. 100 percent of all profits will go to the refugee fund and our recent performance in Cheltenham raised nearly £1,000. We’re hoping to do as well in Stroud. ”

  • Tickets £12 or £ 8 and are available from Stroud TIC on 01453 760900 or from subscriptionrooms.org.uk. Performance starts at 7.30 p.m.
