FROM the team that brought you The Wizard of Oz and the Cirencester Christmas Spectacular, StageSmart returns with the cult classic Little Shop of Horrors at the newly refurbished Barn Theatre, ahead of its grand opening as a professional venue in late 2017.

The story revolves around the hapless florist-assistant Seymour, who harbours a crush on his coworker Audrey.

One day, Seymour finds a new breed of plant that he names ‘Audrey II’. As Seymour’s crush on Audrey grows, so does the plant, and its insatiable thirst for human blood.

Watch as the plot unfolds in a number of hilarious events, accompanied by the brilliant music of Alan Menken, best known for his scores for Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast.

Iwan Lewis, founder of StageSmart, and newly appointed artistic director of The Barn Theatre said: “Little Shop Of Horrors is one of those watershed musicals that paved the way for what we know as contemporary musical theatre. This is the perfect musical for StageSmart.

"Having observed rehearsals, I can honestly say that it is looking amazing. Having worked with our local talent on The Wizard of Oz and West Side Story, I can see that the students are going from strength to strength. Cirencester is in for a theatrical treat.”

Despite its man-eating centrepiece, Little Shop of Horrors is a laugh out loud musical for the whole family to enjoy, including well known songs such as “Suddenly Seymour” and “Feed Me”.

As always, StageSmart are bringing their production values up to the next level with their Audrey II, the alien plant, coming straight from the UK National Tour.

Director and Choreographer Benn-Llewellyn Williams and Kelly-Marie Hook have been working hard to make this show the best it can be.
