DURSLEY Operatic and Dramatic Society are staging the one of the all-time classic Broadway musicals, Guys and Dolls between May 1-6 at the Lister Hall, Dursley.
Based on Damon Runyon short stories of New York life, with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser, the show centres on the colourful lives of characters Nathan Detroit and his long-suffering girlfriend Adelaide, notorious gambler Sky Masterson whose world collides with Sarah Brown from the Salvation Army.
Guys and Dolls is packed with great tunes such as Luck Be a Lady and Sit Down You're Rockin' the Boat.
Director Ken Hitchings said: “This musical has it all – wonderful music, fantastic characters and a warm, witty script. Audiences are in for a memorable night at the theatre.”
