A MUSICAL theatre group based in Stroud are preparing to bring their second full scale production to the Sub Rooms on July 20 and 21.

Just Us Productions aim to bring lesser known musicals to the town, and this year will present Bare: A Pop Up Opera.

The play follows a group of students in their last year of High School as they attempt to survive.

In particular it follows two roommates as they come to terms with their sexuality.

Set to a pop/rock and opera soundtrack, it deals with many issues that teenagers have to deal with on a daily basis.

Based on a book by Jon Hartmere, Jr and Damon Intrabartolo and with lyrics by Hartmere and music by Intrabartolo, the play debuted at the Hudson Theatre in Los Angeles.

Just Us Productions producer Pippa Robinson said: "Bare is an exciting show that is incredibly relevant in today's society. The music is beautiful, and I am so pleased to be bringing it to Stroud. We have an incredibly talented and passionate cast, who have worked incredibly hard to give you the best show possible.”

Director Peter Woolley said: “It's a story about love, relationships and issues that young people are dealing with daily. It's a hidden gem of a musical with a great musical score and some really great comedy moments.”
