SING-A-LONG-A Sound of Music is back at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham for one night only - on Sunday, March 30, 7pm.

This sell-out smash-hit musical show is a screening of the classic Julie Andrews film, complete with subtitles so the whole audience can sing along..

Fancy dress is not obligatory but very highly recommended.

MADAME Galina - Ballet Star Galactica - is an original comedy show coming to Under the Edge Arts, Wotton - on Friday, March 28 (8pm).

Written and performed by Lestyn Edwards, the performance features Madame Galina, described as a rude and cantankerous prima Russian ballerina'. Mixing clowning and stand-up comedy with classical ballet, this show has entertained audiences as varied as the Queen, Ruby Wax and British troops in Iraq. Suitable for 14+ SOUTH Gloucestershire Music Service is co-ordinating a Spring Festival of Music, featuring a feast of workshops and concerts involving more than 3,000 schoolchildren and young people.

Highlights include The Musical Miscellany this evening (Thursday, March 27) at Downend School, which involves orchestral, string, vocal and wind music.

A Celebration Concert on Saturday (March 29) takes place at the Hexagon Theatre, Kingsfield School, Kingswood, featuring the Youth Jazz Orchestra.

Other events include African and Indian music workshops, a junior strings workshop, an infant singing festival with songs from around the world and three jazz singing workshops.

Ian Rogers, head of the music service, said: "The festival is an exciting opportunity for young musicians to show off their talent as they get involved in a wide variety of events taking place across the whole of South Gloucestershire."

The festival is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Chipping Sodbury and runs until Thursday, April 3.

FUNNY Business takes place at the Everyman Studio Theatre, Cheltenham on Thursday, March 27 and Friday, March 28 (7pm).

Award-winning clown Fraser Hooper brings this show that has been delighting audiences worldwide - classic clowning, ridiculous routines and eccentric dance .

Fraser pays homage to the great silent comedians but with a definite contemporary edge. His show involves much audience participation and is suitable for all ages.

BRAINIAC Live, at Cheltenham Town Hall on Saturday, March 29, has been cancelled by the show's producers for technical reasons - all ticket holders have been contacted, to refund their money.
