TWO suspects were arrested by police less than an hour after a garage was broken into in Hallen yesterday.
A resident disturbed two burglars as they tried to force their way into a garage at about 1.40am on Wednesday, November 21. By 2.20am officers had apprehended two men nearby.
The alleged burglars, aged 33 and 40, were later released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Adrian Fallows said: "This response shows that we are always relentless on crime and keeping you safe.
"The householder did exactly the right thing by calling us straight away. I always tell people who are unsure about when to call the police that if they think something is suspicious, it probably is, and we'd prefer to have that phone call. I'd always recommend joining Neighbourhood Watch so we can keep you informed about any incidents as well.
"There's a growing trend for thieves to target garages and sheds so it's a good idea to fit a shed alarm and good quality locks."
