A SUPERMARKET in Thornbury was flooded due to heavy rainfall at the weekend.
Emergency services were called to Tesco in Midland Way at 1.23am on Sunday, following reports of flooding at the store.
It took the two crews from Thornbury Fire Station just under five hours to pump the water out of the supermarket, which was able to open its doors as usual on Sunday morning.
A Tesco spokesman said: "Water came in at the back of the store but there was no damage to stock. We opened as normal on Sunday."
An Avon Fire and Rescue spokesman said: "There was obviously a significant amount of water. Crews from Thornbury used two pumps to pump and divert other water from coming into the store. They left at about 6.20am."
