A CHARITY shop window has been causing a stir in Berkeley with its eye-catching Christmas display.

The red and green-themed window in the Break charity shop window is proving popular with shoppers.

The display features a life-size Father Christmas, festive books like The Nutcracker and Christmas cards, toys and decorations.

Shop manager Kelly Mills had been putting aside festive items, saving them for December, when staff members and volunteers were able to create the dazzling display.

This is just the latest in a string of striking window displays from the shop.

Rosie Blair, part of the Break team, said investing time in the displays pays off, because they grab the attention of passing shoppers and showcase the shop’s products.

"This Christmas display complete with a life-size Father Christmas and beautifully decorated tree is no exception with goods flying off the shelves," she said.

"At one stage the staff even considered having a visitors’ book for customers to write down all the compliments they were receiving."

Cllr Liz Ashton said she thought Break had the best window displays she had ever seen in a charity shop.

The Berkeley shop relies entirely on donations, with money raised going to support children and young people in care or with disabilities, as well as families in need of support.
