POLICE have thanked the Yate community which helped discover a drugs haul.
Officers were given information that a drug dealer may be operating in the area and on Saturday, December 15 they searched a property in Chargrove where they seized cash and suspected cannabis. They found 44 small bags believed to contain the drug.
A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug,. He was later released on police bail pending forensic tests on the substance.
Neighbourhood Inspector Andy Workman said: "We're grateful to the local community for telling us about crime and disorder in their neighbourhood.
"I hope this action will encourage more people to get in touch so that we can tackle the issues that are a concern to them."

Neighbourhood police are also holding beat surgeries in the Yate area over the festive period. Officers will be at St Nicholas Church, Abbotswood on Wednesday, January 2 (10-11am) and Friday, January 4 (4-5pm).
