POLICE are hunting two men who broke into a Chipping Sodbury newsagents in the early hours of this morning.
It happened just after 4.30am when the men forced their way into McColl’s on Broad Street and stole a quantity of cigarettes.
The men were disturbed by a female shop worker who was out the back of the shop sorting the morning’s newspapers. She was able to raise the alarm and officers were on the scene within five minutes.
A police spokeswoman said: “The woman was in the back of the shop sorting the morning papers when the burglars forced the front and she disturbed two men as they were loading cigarettes into bins. They made off in a white car towards Old Sodbury.
“Although shocked and upset she was unhurt and able to describe a white man aged 20 to 30, wearing a sports top, tracksuit bottoms and trainers with his face covered.
“The second man was also said to be white, wearing a dark-coloured jacket, jeans, and a hat with ear flaps.”
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
