ORGANISERS of this year’s Chipping Sodbury Jazz Festival are hoping the whole town will get into the swing of things with more events and concerts than ever.
As well as renowned British jazz writer and cornetist Digby Fairweather playing at the town hall on Saturday, February 23, there are several other big names playing in Chipping Sodbury this spring.
The Squire Inn is to host a series of jazz Sunday lunches featuring well-known jazz musicians including Cass Caswell, Ruth Hammond and Paul Buck.
They take place on the first Sunday of each month. The next jazz lunch will be held this Sunday, February 3 featuring Catherine Sykes with Paul Buck.
Mark Lloyd, chairman of Sodbury Chamber of Commerce which organises the jazz festival, said: “Please support any of the local pubs that invest in good quality music in this way.”
The main festival takes place on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1 with concerts both evenings in the town hall and musical events throughout the Saturday. Further details will be announced nearer the time.
