YOUNG artists from a Yate secondary school have had a brush with the public after launching their own exhibition.
The month-long exhibit provides the teenagers with the opportunities to display their work in ways they would not otherwise get the chance to and enjoy seeing other people look at their paintings.
Teacher Kirsty Birt said: “This is the fifth year that Yate Heritage Centre has offered the space to exhibit the work of our linked sixth form, including students from Chipping Sodbury School, and we are delighted to have this opportunity once again.
“Exhibiting art work in public is an important skill and for many of these young artists this is a new experience.”
She said the work was of a highly personal nature but it was been based on the themes or contrast and camouflage and reflections, distortions and changes.
The exhibition is open to the public at the heritage centre until Tuesday, February 19 (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 10.30am-4.30pm).
