Wotton-under-Edge twinning society invites people to visit French twin town Beaumont

THE TWINNING society in Wotton-under-Edge is planning a summer visit to their French twin town.

Wotton has been twinned with Beaumont since 1987, during which time strong bonds have formed between families in the two towns.

The Beaumont-le-Roger Society will be travelling to France in May and has spaces on their coach for anyone who wants to join in.

This could either be to join in with the visit and stay with a host family or to use the coach as a means of transport to France.

Society secretary Tessa McLusky said: "The weekend in Beaumont is always fun and the Beaumontais very welcoming.

"There is no need to speak French, although a little is always helpful, as most of the families we stay with have some English."

The coach will travel to France on Thursday, May 23 and return on Monday, May 27.

Anyone interested in finding out more about the trip should email tessa.owls11@btinternet.com or chairman Roger Gunning on rjgunning15@btinternet.com.
