AN £80,000 refurbishment of Dursley Swimming Pool’s changing rooms has been completed in time for the centre’s 25th anniversary.
The new-look changing rooms were designed with input from customers through surveys and a customer forum.
As part of the renovations, lockers are now available in various sizes to suit a range of customers’ needs and the wet change area for disabled users has now been transformed into a wet and dry change area.
More changing cubicles have been provided for the benefit of families and disabled customers.
Angela Gillingham, general manager of Dursley Pool, said the refit had given the pool a much-needed facelift.
"The area has been completely redesigned to deliver a real sense of space, which will give our customers additional comfort when changing," she said.
Cllr June Cordwell, executive member for community services, said it was the first major improvement the centre has had since it opened in July 25, 1988.
"Dursley Pool is an extremely busy centre and the new changing room is already proving popular with our regular customers," she said.
The improvements follow on from a £35,000 revamp of the pool area last year, which included retiling and new showers.
The pool is open seven days a week for the public, schools and community groups.
