Dropped kerbs map of Thornbury now available on South Gloucestershire Council's website
5:41pm Tuesday 26th February 2013 in News By Marion Sauvebois
AN UP to date map of Thornbury’s dropped kerbs is now available online.
The blueprint, designed to help those using mobility scooters travel or mothers with prams travel more easily and comfortably into town, is now live on South Gloucestershire Council’s website.
The user-friendly map allows residents to zoom in on specific areas to familiarise themselves with previously unknown streets and plan their journeys ahead.
Town Cllr Guy Rawlinson told the Gazette: "The map is there for people to use whenever. I don’t know any other good maps of Thornbury that beat it.
"It is a work in progress. At the moment it just features the dropped kerbs that are on South Gloucestershire Council’s asset register. As we move forward we will add more, that’s our hope."
The next step will also be providing users with possible routes into town, highlighting all lowered stretches of pavement.
