Chipping Sodbury Lions to hold Marie Curie Cancer Care collections in Yate Shopping Centre
7:00pm Monday 11th March 2013 in News By Alexandra Womack
MEMBERS of Chipping Sodbury Lions Club will be shaking their collection tins for Marie Curie Cancer Care this weekend.
The club is holding collections at Tesco Extra in Yate Shopping Centre on Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16. It will be asking shoppers for a donation in return for a yellow daffodil pin, as part of the charity’s Daffodil Appeal.
It is the first time Marie Cure has joined forces with Lions clubs as its first official collecting partner for the annual appeal. Chipping Sodbury Lions Club president Keith Lawrence said: “We are proud to be able to support the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal, as our focus is on helping our local community. “This is a great cause and we hope everyone in Yate and Sodbury will give generously.”
Natalie Taylor, community fundraiser at Marie Curie Cancer Care, said: “We are so excited to have the Lions club collecting donations with us in the Bristol and Bath area and are really looking forward to working together.
“We hope that with their help we will have the most successful Great Daffodil Appeal yet.”
